Earth Day 2013 Giveaway

Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is a good time to reflect on the choices we make in our everyday lives, and to commit to doing more in the future. Here at MudHollow, we strive to keep our products, packaging, and shipping as environmentally friendly as possible, and are always looking for ways that we can take it a step further.

Earthday.org is a wonderful resource to help take the next step to getting involved in the care of our planet. There is an interesting footprint calculator, they list several ways to get involved in various campaigns, and you can upload your photo to be part of “The Face of Climate Change” photo mosaic.

How Lovely! We eat locally and organic, walk to school, shop second hand, conserve water and energy among many other things!

Seems like you have it pretty well figured out – so wonderful to hear people really being conscientious in their daily choices!

gorgeous, my 4 year olds ‘thing’ at the moment is eating only food that comes without rubbish….. so I’m trying to keep up with cooking for her with minimal packaging, opting for paper over plaastic wrppers. We’re also upping our home grown food. 🙂

    • MuddyFeet April 23, 2013 at 1:21 pm #

I love that your little one is already making those choices! It takes some adjusting to, but so worth it for both the planet’s health, and our own! Thanks for sharing!

I have been composting my food scraps, lugging all my recyclables to the recycling center with the kiddos to show them how much we can reduce our trash, and looking at electric cars for our next vehicle to reduce our footprints! 🙂 Would love to win a little critter…they are sooooo adorable and were a treasure to the whole family this past Christmas! Thank you!

These felted animals are adorable. This year, to protect the planet I will continue to live making conscious choices as I have over the last 18 years. Eating organic food, reusing as many things as possible, for example as well as using cloth diapers for my baby once he is born in the next couple of weeks.

  14. Viola April 29, 2013 at 2:32 pm #

Great! My plans are to learn beekeeping. In fact, I already started. ..

    • MuddyFeet April 30, 2013 at 9:47 am #

Would love to win! Thanks for the chance 🙂 We recycle, compost, grow our own food, raise our own chickens, have our own honey bees, re-landscape our yard with only useful or edible plants, walk places, buy used clothing, books, household items and furniture…and the list goes on 🙂

    • MuddyFeet April 30, 2013 at 9:48 am #

Wow, that is quite an impressive list! Someday I hope to have the ability to raise chickens and bees, and have a bit more space for gardening.

What charming felted animals looking after their organic garden – delightful. We are continuing to grow our own veggies (without chemicals) and are seeing some lovely results. Have p/v panels & solar hot water system. Also recycling and reusing items.

  24. Natalie April 29, 2013 at 4:19 pm #

Hopefully not too late~ these are darling!! My earth protection plan for the next few days is to install a rain barrel under the newly constructed horse shelter for drinking water (for the horse) and water for the garden :o)

  25. Julie Kay Tate April 29, 2013 at 4:35 pm #

    So adorable!

  26. Casey @ sesame seed designs April 29, 2013 at 4:36 pm #

Adorable! My kids are obsessed with little animals.
My favorite eco-friendly thing that we do is that we buy most of our food in bulk with our neighborhood buying club. We cut down on packaging, are able to afford to buy mostly organic due to group discounts/wholesale pricing, get to know our community, support local farmers and businesses and keep our money within our city!

    • MuddyFeet April 30, 2013 at 9:50 am #

neighborhood buying clubs (and CSA’s) are wonderful! I really hope this movement grows quickly so that there are even more options for people!

  27. mamawestwind April 29, 2013 at 4:48 pm #

SO we are trying to grow some of our food in the backyard. We have 2 sq ft gardens this year and an in ground bed. We’re composting & hopefully will get a couple of rain barrels. Mostly I just want to impart a love of our earth to my boys and teach them local is good, as local as your own backyard even. Shared on FB.
