Spider Webs

The temperatures are rising quickly here in the desert.  We have been nearing 100°F and it feels as though summer is nearly upon us.  Warm temperatures bring active insects, and active insects bring (welcome) predators!  Our lizards are fat and happy, hummingbirds nab tiny bugs right out of the air (check out this article if you thought hummingbirds only ate nectar), and spiders are building webs everywhere!   Today we snapped a few pictures of the spiders who have built a home in the wire fencing around our strawberry plants (meant to keep birds out).
